Top 5 Summer Skincare Products!

I don’t think ‘normal people’ realise what life is like for someone with allergies, intolerance’s and sensitive skin. Especially when it comes to choosing skincare products and the amount of time you spend reading the various ingredients, whether this is scrolling through an online website or standing in the middle of boots for hours on end.

It takes time! It can also be a trial and error of products, which works out very expensive as drugstores can’t be expected to hand out free testers for all of their products. At the age of nearly 24, I am finally happy with my skincare routine.

1. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel

This works as a foaming face wash for sensitive and oily skin. What I love about this product is it doesnt dry out your face and give you that tight feeling that some facial washes do, it lathers up to form silky and light bubbles and does remove all make up too! It lasts around 3 months if you use it twice a day and costs only £9!

2. Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner

Toning is SO important, it remove any last bit of dirt or oil that may have been residing on your face, hands or towel, it makes your skin feel plump and ridiculously clean! Toners are a tricky one because lots of them have oils in which really irritate someone with sensitive skin and can be extremely drying. This product is mild, alcohol free and refreshing to the face. For only £15.50 you can’t go wrong!

3. Aveeno Cream with natural Colloidal Oatmeal

I have been using this now for over a year, I am a big believer of testing products i buy for a good month or two before I decide if they are right for my skin! But this has never let me down. I hate that sticky feeling on your skin that you get when you moisturise and you feel like your clothes just cling to your body. You don’t get that with this moisturiser because the skin absorbs the product so quickly but doesn’t guzzle it making you feel like you haven’t used anything. It is abit pricey but you can’t fault it and lets be honest can we afford to be fussy when our skin has already decided to do that for us! Its £14.69 and if used daily, all over my body (except my face) it would last 3/4 weeks.

4. E45 Cream for dry skin

This has been my god send! Lately I have been really struggling with a facial moisturiser because every time I went to my local boots they sold out of the one I normally use, I kept coming up in little patches of red dry skin on my face and everything was irritating it, so I stripped back to the basic and found the simplest product I could. I really didn’t expect it to be so moisturising, and it sits really well under make up, which is every girls dream right? A moisturiser and primer in one! I LOVE that it comes in a tub rather than a tube because you can always tell when you are running low, and for only £4.20 you might as well stock up until winter!

5. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Anti Shine Matte Fluid SPF

My family vacation is soon approaching (4 day countdown eeeeek) so of course i stocked up on my favourite facial sun cream! Again it is for sensitive oily skin, like most of La Roche-Posay’s products. It is lightweight, non sticky and comes in a perfect sized bottle. It is rather pricey but unless you are lucky enough to live abroad, it isn’t something you’ll need to buy every month! It is £16.50 and I believe it only comes in factors 30 & 50! Perfect for us pale little beans.

Quote of the day! It’s so true. People don’t understand the struggle of having to read through every ingredient, the trials and errors, or the mess that comes with using a bad product.

But it’s always such an amazing feeling to finally find a product that works!

  2. I’ve heard a lot about the E45 cream but never have actually used it. I have the worst dry skin when it’s cold. Great post, it’d mean a lot if you checked my recent post too x
